Summary
Nova's NY Engineering Services Group was retained to provide an overview analysis of a building portfolio within Manhattan consisting of a wide range of building types, sizes, and uses. Nova performed efficient research on the assets and provided a detailed building catalog outlining which specific local law requirements were required for each asset, their current status, and recommendations for future assessment and reporting. From there, Nova has provided the assessments necessary to keep the buildings in compliance and maintained.
Highlights
Preliminary research revealed that a number of assets were past due or nearing deadlines for compliance with NYC Façade Inspection Safety Program (FISP) requirements. Nova was able to prioritize assessments and report filing, mitigating impending fees and penalties which would have been imposed had those assessments been forgone or postponed. Recommended repairs to the exterior walls and appurtenances were then incorporated into a revised building catalog, allowing the client to prioritize repairs throughout the entirety of their portfolio. By engaging with Nova, the client was able to comprehend the totality of assessments and repairs required by their assets and develop a strategic approach to completing necessary repairs.
