Environmental Site Investigation & Remediation
Reducing environmental risk and safeguarding future investments
We understand potential environmental risks and liabilities. We also acknowledge that a company's assessment, management, and resolution of these risks influence its reputation, financial outcomes, and competitive position. Nova’s tailored approach ensures regulatory compliance, informs decision-making, and provides strategic remediation solutions, safeguarding the value and integrity of commercial real estate investments.
Remedial Investigation and Corrective Action Design
Nova designs and implements Remedial Investigations (RI) and Corrective Action Design (CAD) programs to protect public health and the environment. RIs determine the nature, extent, and magnitude of contamination, and CADs provide an action plan for any necessary remediation/cleanup.
Most of our RI/CAD projects have been in response to mandates from regulatory agencies under the authority of CERCLA, RCRA, and other state and local programs.
What’s Involved?
We develop a detailed feasibility study and analysis to establish practical, cost-effective mitigation solutions. Our team has designed and implemented a wide array of corrective technologies, including:
Natural attenuation
Soil excavation for thermal treatment
Land spreading
Incineration and landfill disposal
Groundwater pump and treatment
Soil-vapor extraction
Air sparging
Contaminant plume control
Vapor intrusion mitigation
Chemical oxidation and bio-remediation alternatives

Storage Tank Management and Permitting
We help clients manage regulatory requirements and state policies concerning tank ownership, release notification, and response. Our team designs release investigations and corrective action plans for regulatory compliance, and to maximize potential reimbursement.
What’s Involved?
Release investigation
Corrective action implementation
Underground and aboveground storage tank registration, permitting, and compliance services to ensure that storage tanks are operated in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements
Public funding grant/reimbursement assistance for costs associated with both remedial investigation and corrective action under funding program guidelines
