Nova's Journey to Net-Zero 2030 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Includes All Due Diligence Assessments To Be Conducted On A Carbon Neutral Basis

By becoming a General Benefit Corporation (GBC), commonly referred to as a B Corp., Nova Group pledged a declaration of interdependence stating the belief that all business ought to be conducted as if people and place mattered, and thus we are responsible for each other and future generations. All B Corps make a legal commitment to conduct business with consideration for the environment and all stakeholders. This commitment is critical to the Nova Group Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform that focuses on our people, our community, and our planet.

We are living in challenging times as accelerating climate change and ecological breakdown are putting our planet at great risk. As part of our strategy to combat climate change, Nova Group, GBC has committed to a Net-Zero Carbon 2030 Plan that is aligned with the B Corp Community, United Nations Global Compact, and is focused on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG). Net-Zero 2030 is a company-wide initiative and includes our transformation of our operations, how we conduct business, consideration of our supply chain, and our customer interactions.

Carbon Neutral Due Diligence Assessments

One component of our Net-Zero 2030 Plan is to generate Nova Group Carbon Neutral Due Diligence Assessments. As clients involved with commercial real estate transactions continue to focus on their own environmental, social responsibility and governance (ESG) impacts, it provides an opportunity for Nova and our own commitment to become Net-Zero by 2030, to bring additional value to their service needs.

Moving forward, Nova Group, GBC will complete every due diligence report on a carbon-neutral basis. We will accomplish this by first calculating the carbon emissions for each project, looking for ways to minimize those emissions while completing the work. Then for the emissions that cannot be eliminated, Nova will use carbon offsets through our strategic alliance with Cool Effect, a third-party group that verifies and provides carbon offsets. We see this as a win:win:win for Nova, our clients, and the planet, as it moves us closer to be Net-Zero by 2030 while helping clients reduce the environmental impacts of their daily operations.
