March 18, 2020 To our Valued Clients:
It is important for you to know that the National Engineering & Environmental Due Diligence Association (NEEDDA) takes the safety and well-being of our clients and employees very seriously. We realize that global events have had adverse effects on travel and on our ability to access the tools that are needed in order to perform our due diligence process; resulting in a temporary reduction in the standard of care - sometimes preventing strict adherence to ASTM, Fannie, Freddie, HUD and other protocols. The safety of our teams and clients is of the utmost importance. NEEDDA members have taken action by putting appropriate measures in place that will be adjusted based on the severity or lack thereof, of the COVID-19 threat.
For example:
Field personnel will generally observe self-isolation and ‘social distancing’ guidelines promulgated by the CDC.
Interior observation of multifamily properties may be limited to common areas and mechanical rooms along with vacant units and units whose residents are away.
Remote observation may be conducted by video or other means to access sensitive areas.
Business Continuity In the current health crisis, it will not always be possible to review regulatory records, arrange site access, etc. within previously attainable time frames. Two-week turn arounds will be more difficult to achieve and will have to be adjudicated on a case-by-case basis. We thank you for your patience in this matter.
Additionally NEEDDA members are communicating with their teams and clients in real time as this situation evolves; we are confident that NEEDDA and its partners are well prepared to help ensure safety and efficiency so that our work flow can be maintained and our teams and clients kept safe and informed.
We appreciate your confidence in our organization during this rapidly changing situation. The safety of you and your family is of the utmost importance to NEEDDA.
